About Wolfa

Hi, I'm Robbie, the founder of Wolfa.

It all started with a trip to Thailand that was never meant to change my life.

A good friend invited me to check out THAIFEX, one of the biggest food expos in the world. And I was like, yes please.

Thaifex Asia

Thousands of food vendors, endless samples, and free food — which I absolutely convinced myself was a perfectly reasonable excuse to go back to a country I already loved. That was all the motivation I needed.

(For the record, I don’t work in the food industry. I was mostly just looking for an excuse to visit Thailand and eat for free.)

What I didn’t expect was to walk into something that completely...

changed how I think about nutrition.

Somewhere between tasting everything in sight, I came across this tiny, slightly mysterious plant called:

Wolffia

I had never heard of it before — and at the time, hardly anyone else had either.

Side note: I’m a bit of a Google Ads nerd, so I checked Google’s keyword tools out of curiosity. Turns out “Wolffia” only had a few hundred searches a month. For context, “famous trombone players” gets about a thousand. Make of that what you will.

Also, as I’m typing this, Google is still underlining “Wolffia” in red — meaning it’s so unheard of that Google thinks it’s a typo.

End of side note. Back to the story.

Once I learned what Wolffia actually is, my brain short-circuited a little.

Wolffia
  • It’s a real, whole vegetable
  • One of the most nutrient-dense plants on the planet
  • Yet incredibly small

Small enough that you can eat it like a supplement, or mix it into just about anything.

This made me genuinely excited!

Here’s why.

I’m a busy entrepreneur and digital nomad. Which is a nice way of saying I’m often too busy (or lazy) to eat properly.

I try. I really do.

But most days, nutrition ends up being a handful of supplements and a promise to “eat better tomorrow.”

And sure, supplements help. I take them too. But deep down, I always had doubts about trying to hit my nutrition goals with lab-concocted powders and pills.

If it isn’t actually grown by Mother Nature, how nutritious could it really be?

That’s when the thought hit me:

What if eating something as healthy and nutrient-dense as broccoli was as easy as eating… well, anything that can be spoon-fed without prepping, cooking, or dishwashing?

A spoonful a day. Stir it into yogurt. Spread it on toast with some ghee. Done. Nutrition box checked. Real energy. And without your food tasting like… broccoli.

Oh — and it turns out Wolffia is also incredibly good for the environment.

Because it’s so small, it doesn’t require acres and acres of farmland. It uses very little water. And it grows fast. Which means this source of nutrition is not just good for us — it’s genuinely good for the planet too.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are Wolffia farms on Mars one day, feeding our grandchildren when they settle there.

From that moment on, I started trying to make Wolffia part of my everyday life. And the more I did, the more obvious it became that I wasn’t alone.

A lot of us want to eat better — we just want it to be easy, fast, and real.

And yet, as we head into 2026, it feels like real nutrition from everyday food is getting harder to come by (Anyone watched Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food on Netflix?).

Meanwhile, meal replacements, white powders, pills, and gummies are becoming the default version of “healthy.”

That disconnect is a big part of why Wolfa exists.

Nothing extreme. Nothing complicated. Just a simple and lazy way to get real, plant-based, Mother-Earth-grown nutrition — to support real, long-term energy.

As I write this, I’m working closely with one of the top Wolffia farms in Thailand on a formulation that tastes delicious — and that I can bring to America.

This all started as a food trip.

It turned into something much bigger.

And honestly, it’s just getting started.
